Let's just hope that as he continues to spiral downward he doesn't take the country with him. (All the more reason to impeach him now rather than allow him to ride out the remaining year and a half he has left.)

He's probably decided that he can ride the wave of impeachment (because of his unique superpowers) and then right before he (and his sidekick Rove) leave office he will declare victory in Iraq (no matter what the reality is) and end his presidency as a hero.

You know, he will forever after be known as the first "Superhero President" of the 21st Century ~ wacko.gif

The Elephant in the Room

George W. Bush has the lowest presidential approval rating in a generation, and the leading Dems beat every major ’08 Republican. Coincidence?

By Marcus Mabry
Newsweek
Updated: 10:31 a.m. ET May 5, 2007

May 5, 2007 - It’s hard to say which is worse news for Republicans: that George W. Bush now has the worst approval rating of an American president in a generation, or that he seems to be dragging every ’08 Republican presidential candidate down with him. But According to the new NEWSWEEK Poll, the public’s approval of Bush has sunk to 28 percent, an all-time low for this president in our poll, and a point lower than Gallup recorded for his father at Bush Sr.’s nadir. The last president to be this unpopular was Jimmy Carter who also scored a 28 percent approval in 1979. This remarkably low rating seems to be casting a dark shadow over the GOP’s chances for victory in ’08. The NEWSWEEK Poll finds each of the leading Democratic contenders beating the Republican frontrunners in head-to-head matchups.

Perhaps that explains why Republican candidates, participating in their first major debate this week, mentioned Bush’s name only once, but Ronald Reagan’s 19 times. (The debate was held at Reagan’s presidential library.)

Bush Approval Map: No Safe Districts for GOP

May 11, 2007

As long as Bush remains unpopular, there are no more safe Republican House seats. That’s the message I want to get across. But first:

It’s been a long time since I made a map of Bush’s approval ratings. But Bush has been holding steady at record low approval ratings for the past four months – I just had to see that lovely sea of blue spread across the country. The problem is, Survey USA is now doing 16-state surveys instead of 50-state surveys. So, averaging all the polls I could find over four months, and throwing in a few estimates, here you go, everybody:

Why the heck should we care about Bush’s approval ratings anymore? Because they could guarantee our majorities in the House and Senate. An explanation below.

Bush is akin to rat poison. mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif
Why do so many Republican members of Congress keep blindly supporting this loser? rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif
Oh yes, the way is open for a complete Democrat clean sweep in 2008, assuming the right presidential candidate is selected, and I don't mean Hillary. laugh.gif

Bush is becoming increasingly isolated. laugh.gif
Tony Blair will resign as British PM in late June. His likely successor Gordon Brown will distance himself from Smirky and the Iraq debacle - expect more British troops to be pulled out of Iraq.
Australia - according to today's polls, Prime Minister John Howard will lose the coming election in a landslide. The probable victor Kevin Rudd(leader of the Labor Party, similar to the Democrats) will pull all Aussie troops out of Iraq.
I think you can guess who I'm voting for. You guys would like Kevin Rudd a lot - very smart and charismatic dude.

Smirky won't have a friend on the international stage soon - no surprise he's making overtures to the new French President, Nicholas Sarkozy. laugh.gif laugh.gif
