President Bush recently credited his tax cuts as the reason why the U.S. economy is growing. But as the following two charts from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities show, the economic expansion is slower than average, and since 2001 a large portion of the tax cuts have gone to the most wealthy.

If you're a CEO and/or a millionaire these are the Good Ole Days. No wonder Bush can say that the economy is going great with such conviction and not mention the rest of the story. It's incredible that this or any President of the United States of America could be so focused on investments to the exclusion of how the Middle Class is really doing. rolleyes.gif

Using tax cuts to benefit the top tier ~ while his message is that these tax cuts help everyone. mad.gif

Here's what I'd really like to know:

How many of the ones that benefited most from the tax cuts are investing back in the US with these funds (with stocks, bonds, other), and how has this changed since 2001?

Welcome to JREG.. smile.gif

They are re-investing, but not paying hourly employees anymore, trying to demoralize workers by wrecking unions or not allowing them to organize for unions, and they are paying off Congress. That's why this election is important. The avg citizen's voice has been lost.

Welcome to JREG.. smile.gif

They are re-investing,

Thanks for the welcome.

Are they reinvesting in the country that they're destroying? Or other countries with stronger fundamentals?

It would be really interesting (but probably impossible) to see some stats!

Also welcome to JREG!

And you can bet your next paycheck their investments are ALL overseas and NOT in this country. Maybe they should all be FORCED to live where the majority of their investments are made. China wouldn't look so good to them then, and I bet India wouldn't either...closer to home, Mexico...but then they could always get a coyote to take them back across the border......
