Racism drives torture at American prisons
That kind of attitude may appear to be working today. But in the long run, as the Bush administration fades into the sunset and the world continues to document American Marine atrocities, torture and murder, the reality of the civil rights abuses that Americans condoned so arrogantly today will come back to haunt this country.
Only those Americans who stand up and denounce these practices can claim to be true patriots who are defending the essence of American morality from the disease of political expediency and racist hatred.

We had our little brush with this in Chicago. The 13 people that former Gov. George Ryan released from death row in 2001 were wrongly accused and tortured in the investigation process not the prison. The Detective attached electrodes to a certain part of their anatomy in some cases and in other made threats against the individual or beathtem. This was in the name of obtaining a confession. This action brought false confessions. One of the 13 sued the police department and the city to recoup for his lost life. I think he also went against the detective individually.
Torture only works to obtain fals informtion. I would beileve nothing from a man who was tortured because they will say anything to get you to stop.
