[quote]Kerik records back in spotlight

Newly released Correction Department records show that an unusual number of officers from an elite jail unit were on "`stand-by`" on Nov. 1, 1998, the day of `then-Commissioner` Bernard Kerik's wedding.

But as with earlier documents released after Freedom of Information Law requests, there is no clear explanation of what justified the extra staff.

The charge from some department personnel has been that either a team of Emergency Response Unit officers were paid by the city to attend the nuptials or their absence from duty forced overtime in the jails.

Regardless of what anybody says I think this story that just wont go away will be a noose around Guiliani's neck in any office he runs for on the national level.

I tend to agree with you, Judy. There is a lot more about Kerik to come out yet. They are using Kerik for a reason and we shall be watching what they are going to do. It's all about the next election...you know they start to discredit early.
